Bishalgarh, Sept 25: A couple from Gakulnagar Deendayal Chowmuhani under Bishalgarh police station has approached police alleging that their drug-addicted son has been assaulting them and selling household belongings to fund his habit.
Dinesh Debnath and his wife alleged that their son, Gobinda Debnath, has been returning home in an intoxicated state for several months and subjecting them to physical abuse. They also alleged that he has been taking household items and selling them to arrange money for drugs.
On Friday afternoon, Gobinda allegedly assaulted his father after returning home intoxicated and threatened to create further trouble, according to the complaint.
Dinesh later approached Bishalgarh police seeking action against his son and protection for himself and his wife. He broke down while speaking to the media about the family’s ordeal.
The family is now awaiting police action on the allegations.
