Staff Selection Commission to be formed
In a move aimed at streamlining government recruitment, the Cabinet has approved the formation of the Tripura Staff Selection Commission.
The commission will oversee recruitment to Group B, Group C and Group D posts under the state government. The government said the new system will bring greater transparency and impartiality to the recruitment process, with selections based on eligibility and merit.
Free festive ration for 9.92 lakh families
The Cabinet also approved a special festive-season ration package for cardholders.
Ration card-holding families will receive semolina, flour and sugar free of cost through government fair-price shops during October and November. Around 9.92 lakh families across Tripura are expected to benefit from the scheme.
Chowdhury said the Cabinet decisions would create new employment opportunities, fill critical vacancies in government departments and provide additional support to families during the festive season.
