Kailashahar, September 15: The management committee of Darun Quran Phulbarikandi Borkhola Hafizia Madrasa intervened after a complaint was lodged against a teacher over the alleged physical assault of a student.
The complaint was filed by the student’s father, Monaf Ali, at Kailashahar Police Station on August 12. Following the complaint, the local Samaj Panchayat, elected Gram Panchayat representatives and the madrasa management committee held discussions with the student’s family to address the matter.
During the discussions, the committee assured the family that appropriate action would be taken regarding the teacher. The student’s safety and future at the madrasa were also discussed. The committee reportedly assured the family of financial support for medical treatment if required.
Following the discussions, Monaf Ali decided to withdraw his complaint. He also submitted an application to Kailashahar Police Station seeking withdrawal of the complaint, according to his statement.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Ali said he had approached the police after learning about the alleged incident involving his son. He said he was satisfied with the subsequent intervention by local representatives and the madrasa management committee.
Ali said he plans to send his son back to the madrasa and has no further complaint at present.
He also appealed to the media not to publish further reports on the matter, saying the issue had been resolved through discussions among the concerned parties.
The development followed efforts by the madrasa management committee and local representatives to resolve the dispute after the police complaint was filed.
