Srinagar, Sep 12 (IANS): Sleuths of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday carried out raids at multiple locations in the Valley in connection with a terror related FIR lodged with the agency.

The teams of NIA sleuths were assisted by Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Police and the CRPF during these raids.

Officials said, “NIA’s searches were conducted at seven locations across Kashmir. At two places in Kulgam district, three places in Bandipora district and two places in Sopore sub-division of Baramulla district.

“The searches are part of an ongoing investigation into an alleged cross-border terror conspiracy involving Pakistan based handlers and local Over Ground Workers suspected of providing logistical support to infiltrated terrorists.

“The searches, carried out with assistance from J&K Police and paramilitary forces, relate to FIR No. 0024/2026 of Police Station Zakoora, later re-registered by the NIA as RC-02/2026/NIA/JMU.”

Further details and recoveries are awaited.

The NIA regularly conducts raids and searches across J&K as part of ongoing probes into terror financing, conspiracies, and militant networks.

Searches frequently cover multiple districts across the Kashmir Valley and Jammu regions, including Srinagar, Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam, Anantnag, Baramulla, Kupwara, Sopore, Bandipora, and Kishtwar.

Operations are tied to cracking down on Over Ground Workers, terror funding networks, hybrid militants, and premises linked to proscribed groups like Jamaat-e-Islami.

NIA teams carried out these synchronised early-morning raids with the active assistance of the J&K Police and paramilitary CRPF.

The NIA has handled several critical, high-profile cases in J&K targeting terror finance, cross-border conspiracies, and high-visibility attacks.

The major high-profile NIA cases in the region include: The Red Fort/Delhi Car Bomb Case (2025–2026). This high-stakes investigation follows a devastating car bomb explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort on November 10, 2025.

J&K Terror Funding & Secessionist Case: Originally registered in 2017, this remains the most foundational case targeting the financial pipelines of separatism in Kashmir. It focusses on money sent from Pakistan, its spy agencies ISI, and international channels to fuel stone-pelting and unrest.

The Reasi Pilgrim Attack Case of 2024: This investigation was handed over to the NIA due to its severe national security implications. This case probes the June 9, 2024 terror assault on a bus carrying pilgrims in the Reasi district, which killed 9 people and injured dozens.
