Agartala, September 9: A scooter rider was seriously injured after being hit by a truck in the Rabipara area of Malaynagar on Tuesday. The truck driver and his associates allegedly fled the spot following the accident, triggering tension in the area.
According to local sources, 38-year-old Abhi Das was travelling through Rabipara on his scooter when the accident occurred. The truck reportedly hit the scooter, throwing the rider onto the road and leaving him seriously injured. A Pulsar motorcycle was also damaged in the collision.
Local residents rushed to the spot after hearing about the accident. They rescued the injured rider and took him to GB Hospital by auto-rickshaw for treatment.
Police from Srinagar Police Station later reached the scene and began an investigation.
The truck involved in the accident reportedly bears registration number TR01X1741. The scooter bears registration number TR03K8077, while another vehicle involved has registration number TR01B9659.
Police have launched a search for the truck driver and his associates, who allegedly fled the scene after the accident. Further investigation is underway.
