Amaravati, Sep 10 (IANS): Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party President Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday reiterated the demand for the resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh and a CBI probe into the DSC 2025, saying it is laden with unprecedented ‘irregularities’ and jobs were given away on a platter to candidates who did not even write the exams.

Addressing a press conference at the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli, he questioned the silence of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Nara Lokesh on the questions raised by the opposition regarding the DSC recruitment process.

He claimed that irregularities in the recruitment of teachers through DSC 2025 were emerging one after another.

Jagan accused the government of deliberately weakening the DSC scam investigation. He asked why Chandrababu Naidu was trying to protect his son and alleged that the government was “playing with the lives and futures of unemployed youth”.

“Why were the preparation and supervision of DSC examination papers placed in the hands of a single individual, and why did the government introduce GO No. 4 and GO No. 47? Why were the GOs changed after the recruitment process was complete?” he asked.

YS Jagan wanted to know how 372 posts under the sports quota were filled without conducting an examination. “GO No. 4 and GO No. 47 opened the gates for irregularities, while GO Nos. 23, 25, and 56 were brought in later to close those gates after the work was completed.”

The former Chief Minister highlighted how jobs were given away, throwing caution to the wind and violating all set norms, and since the DSC was exposed, the coalition government has stalled the APPSC exams, which they planned to recruit in the same modus operandi.

“Jobs were given to candidates based on participation certificates for tournaments which never took place, he said. Terming the DSC as a gem in the list of scams of Chandrababu, Jagan said, “Many skeletons are tumbling out with every passing day from the DSC 2025 cupboard.”

YS Jagan said that while CM Naidu has been trying hard to cover up the issue to shield his son, officials were running out of words to defend the allegations and their version that the verification was done seven times before giving the jobs stands out as a joke.

He accused CM Naidu and his son Lokesh of “misleading the legislature” only as a cover-up bid.

Giving case-by-case details, he explained how jobs were given without writing any exam under the sports quota. According to him, “39 jobs were given in the sports quota; some of them have provided certificates that they participated in a tournament that never took place in Khammam, which was categorically stated by the Judo Association of Telangana, while the fake certificates were given by AP Judo Association, of which the co-brother of Lokesh Bharath is the president. The same malpractice was carried out in Softball, and Kuna Ravi Kumar happens to be its head,” he said.

“One Yogeshwara Rao and his sister were given jobs under sports quota as a family pack on the basis that they won medals in the Kho-Kho Championship held at Nalgonda, but the irony remains that such a competition was never held, as was categorically told by the Telangana Kho-Kho Association. One Basaweshwar Rao claimed that he participated in the 49th Senior Kho-Kho Championship held at Gudivada and was given a participation certificate. Though it was a fake certificate, officials did not take any action,” he said.

The YSRCP chief mentioned that one Prabhakar of Kurnool district was given a job “without writing TET” and, as per his reservation quota, he should be getting 75 marks, but he acquired 65 and could get the job. Officials defended the case by stating that he had written the exam multiple times and they had taken the highest mark, but the category was jumbled up. There is a similar mix-up in the case of one Rasool in Kadapa district.

He stated that the scam began with giving the responsibility of preparing the question bank and also conduct of exam to the same person, and the leakage came out with the outsourcing person getting access to the paper and getting first rank and his name being deleted from the merit list. Though there was audio-video evidence that the jobs were on the offer, the case was not pursued in the manner it should have been done.

“The entire exercise has a telling effect on youth who were working hard to write the competitive exams, and cockroaches would emerge with such indifference on the part of the government,” he added.
